| Kelly, a native of Julian, NC, has been working in Ceramics for quite some time. She enjoys watching the form and material of her craft change as she journeys through life. Kelly honed her interest for the craft while earning her BFA in Design from UNC Greensboro. She then furthered her techniques by studying at the Penland School of Crafts. Her current focus is in high-fired, functional porcelain work, which she appreciates for its clean lines and artistic accessibility. Since her return to Julian, and the farm where she grew up, she is enjoying the sensory experiences of childhood through grown up eyes. She uses the nature around her as inspiration for her work. Using imagination, memory, and present day perceptions Kelly has created an aesthetic that is truly unique to her personal experience
