A self taught metal smith, designer and seamstress, Karen got most of her inspiration from growing up on the North Carolina oceans. She would drape herself in seaweed necklaces and conch shell bracelets. This began her love affair with personal adornment. During her creative process the materials “speak” to her and let her know where they want to be placed. She spends hours transforming mesh and metals into sculptural, wearable art, striving to share her visions of organic beauty.
