Joe Maron was educated at Brooklyn, College in Brooklyn, NY. He received his B.A in 1954 and returned to receive his M.F.A. in 1964. After receiving his M.F.A., he stayed on at Brooklyn College as a teacher from 1964 to 1972. In 1972, he moved to Raleigh, North Carolina and began teaching at Meredith College where he remained until 1987. Maron has been exhibiting his unique art since 1965 in galleries throughout North Carolina and the East Coast. He currently lives and works in Willow Spring, North Carolina with his wife.
