“My art world is centered on expressing nature (landscapes) and the built world (architecture) into surreal representation, often in the narrative combinations. Boats are also used as symbols for life journey.
I sculpt with clay slabs that are textured and assembled. Figurative, architectural and other sculptural elements are used to evoke associations and memories. Landscape painting and vernacular building forms are among my many influences.”
Prayer Towers – The idea of making prayer towers came from the colorful and creative forms found in Mexican artwork and architecture. Included inside each tower is a fold of paper for writing down messages or prayers of one’s choice – giving a special purpose for each sculpture.
