Elizabeth Jones retired from the Durham Public Schools in 2005 after 30 years of employment. About a year before her retirement Elizabeth was watching early morning TV when a woman showed the viewing audience how to make a fused glass cabochon. When she finished making the cabochon she showed the audience how to fashion it into a pendant. Within a few days Elizabeth located her local glass store and before the end of the week she made her first fused glass pendant. Elizabeth says she has been hooked since her first pendant.
After making fused glass pendants, brooches, earrings, and cufflinks for a couple of years Elizabeth moved on to larger projects. Now in addition to the jewelry she makes fused glass plates, platters, bowls, and lamp shades.
