Daniel Johnston is currently based out of Seagrove, NC. He apprenticed with Mark Hewitt from Pittsboro, NC from 1997—2001. All of his pottery is made using local clay which requires a labor intensive refining process. The variation and inconsistency of minimally refined clay gives a richness and beauty to the pots. Daniel also makes his own glazes using ash and clay in different proportions to create a wide range of amazing results.
